GRISOFT Launches Beta Program For Anti-Malware Security Suite

GRISOFT, the supplier of AVG security software, announced the availability of a public beta version of AVG Internet Security 7.5, its new comprehensive anti-malware security suite. In addition to the new security suite, public beta versions for entire AVG 7.5 computer security portfolio are available, including new products, as well as updated versions with significant improvements.

Subversion 1.4.0 Released

Linux Networx Completes $37 Million Funding Round

Linux Networx, The Linux Supercomputing Company, today announced that it has completed a $37 million round of funding. The round includes new investors Lehman Brothers, Inc. and Canaccord Adams, as well as existing investors Oak Investment Partners and Tudor Ventures. The funding will drive the next phase in the company's strategy of delivering solutions that further reduce total cost of ownership (TCO), and improve the performance, manageability and utilization of Linux Supercomputers.

MythTV 0.20 Released

The latest version of MythTV, the open source PVR application for Linux, has been released. New features (as documented in the release notes) include a new menu system, an improved internal DVD player, support for DVB radio channels, and mouse support. There is also a new plugin – MythArchive – which allows recordings be written to DVD.

KOffice 1.6 Beta 1 Released

KOffice, the KDE office suite, released version 1.6 beta1. This release incorporates a number of new features, mainly from the Google Summer of Code projects, as well as a great number of bug fixes. It also signals the start of the feature freeze that always preceeds a release of a major new version, thus giving the developers exactly a month to fix outstanding bugs. We urge everybody that is interested in KOffice to install and test this version to make sure that the final 1.6 has a high quality.
