Google Buys GreenBorder Technologies; Launches Open Source Project

Google has bought out online security startup GreenBorder Technologies, whose software primarily is used to guard against malware. The software was first developed for the corporate market and it is currently being rolled out into the consumer market. Once installed on a PC, it is designed to protect internet users from malicious software and displays a green border to show when a site is safe. Greenborder raised $2.5 million from Western Technology Investments and Labrador Ventures. Rosen Sharma was co-founder. Bernard Harguindeguy is the current CEO.
