Today, in a joint press-release, Ulteo and are announcing a partnership: 2.3, the well-known Open Source productivity suite, is now available online, through a web-browser, without needing any download or installation prior to using it.

The Ulteo platform also offers instant collaborations features such as sharing a session with other people in real time, and sharing printing.

The Community announce the release of 2.2, the latest version of the leading open-source office suite. Open XML translator lets Microsoft Word speak in open source

The open source community has released a plugin allowing Microsoft Word to work with documents created by its open source nemesis OpenOffice.

OpenOffice hit by 'highly critical' vulnerability has patched a critical vulnerability in the open-source application suite.

The vulnerability concerns the way OpenOffice handles .wmf images. Exploitation of the vulnerability, which affects all but the newest version of OpenOffice, can enable a hacker to perform a buffer overflow and then introduce malicious code to the victim's PC.
