For the world's best-engineered ice cream, go to the Union Court dining area at Boston University. What you'll find is a vending machine that can make 96 varieties of ice cream to order from 12 flavors, two base mixes--premium and low carb--and three dry-ingredient mix-ins.
The ice cream, concocted by startup MooBella, isn't necessarily the world's best--that's subjective--though it's quite good. It's certainly the best freshly made ice cream you'll get from a vending machine because, well, it's the only freshly made ice cream available from a vending machine. "Really good ice cream isn't found everywhere you would want it to be," says MooBella president Bruce Ginsberg.
