Global Channel Embraces Red Hat's JBoss Solutions

Red Hat announced that its JBoss middleware software solutions are being embraced by value-added resellers (VARs), systems integrators and customers around the world since the debut of Red Hat's JBoss channel program in 2007. In less than one year's time, Red Hat has teamed with nearly 20 JBoss-specific channel partners in North America and over 50 JBoss-specific channel partners in EMEA, with numbers increasing worldwide. The success of the JBoss channel program signifies the growing demand for JBoss and open source middleware software solutions.

Based on the leading open source application server, JBoss middleware software solutions provide an open, standards-based foundation for many of today's initiatives to modernize IT. Customers are able to leverage the JBoss middleware portfolio to retool software to a service-oriented architecture (SOA), building rich Internet applications for the Web 2.0 generation and migrating legacy applications. These types of initiatives help drive the worldwide application deployment and integration software market, which IDC predicts will reach $18.4 billion in 2011¹.

Today, Red Hat is also introducing the JBoss Advanced Partner Program, that enables value-added resellers (VARs) and systems integrators (SIs) in North America to fuel their middleware business with growing revenue opportunities around JBoss Enterprise Middleware. The new JBoss Advanced Partner Program offers resellers and SIs the tools, resources and support to increase their share in this growing segment.

Similarly, Red Hat's JBoss Systems Integrator program in EMEA was launched in April 2007. Originally, the program offered two levels of partnership: Partner and Preferred. Based on the new JBoss Advanced Partner Program, the two Systems Integrator program levels will now be known as the Advanced level and the Premier level. JBoss SI Partners on the Advanced level are those partners that already maintain the required skill set to act as subject specialists for Red Hat solutions. The top-tier partners on the Premier level stand out for their commitment, expertise and highly skilled integration professionals who continuously meet the needs of customers. Red Hat's JBoss Systems Integrator Partners in EMEA offer best-of-breed middleware through JBoss technology to speed innovation and significantly lower TCO for customers.

"Partnering with Red Hat as an Advanced Business Partner to sell JBoss solutions is a huge win for our customers and our business," said Sridhar Chelikani, President and CEO, Saven Technologies. "Customers want more value out of their technology investments, including flexibility, productivity and reusability, without costly maintenance over time. JBoss delivers on all of these fronts and we're excited to be involved in delivering this technology to customers."

"Chariot Solutions is pleased to be one of Red Hat's first JBoss Advanced Partners. Red Hat's reputation for value and customer care aligns with the expectations of our customers," said Michael Rappaport, CEO, Chariot Solutions. "With open source becoming increasingly mainstream, we anticipate a growing demand for mature open source solutions that can equal, if not exceed, the capabilities of proprietary software. JBoss Enterprise Middleware brings another great open source brand to our solutions portfolio. We look forward to collaborating with Red Hat to help our customers transform their business."

"Our middleware channel program was developed specifically to help satisfy the growing customer demand for open source JBoss middleware solutions worldwide," said Craig Muzilla, vice president, Middleware Business at Red Hat. "The success and momentum of the channel program will provide more options and richer middleware offerings, benefiting both customers and partners alike."

Since JBoss technology was introduced to the channel in early 2007, Red Hat has bolstered its global channel leadership, increased investments in programs and enhanced its infrastructure to support its goal of driving 60 percent of revenue through the channel. The JBoss Advanced Partner Program is another execution of that goal and signifies an important step toward building out a broader ecosystem to accelerate sales of JBoss solutions.
