Corsair VENGEANCE memory modules are often popular choices among PC builders and gaming enthusiasts due to their reputation for performance, reliability, and wide variety of memory module options.

This particular DDR5-6000 Memory Kit is marketed as optimized for AMD motherboards, but supports dual memory profiles for both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP. It strikes a harmonious balance between the high-performance capabilities of DDR5 and an attractive price tag.

Let's take a look at the highlights along with Linux benchmarks.

If you've recently assembled a new PC build, follow hardware trends, or are simply an informed consumer, you're likely aware of DDR5 memory technology and its associated benefits. But for those who might be less familiar, DDR5 memory is readily accessible at competitive price points, offering increased bandwidth, higher data transfer rates, larger memory densities, improved power efficiency, and enhanced overall performance compared to its DDR4 predecessor.

The market is brimming with DDR5 memory options to choose from, and like many other manufacturers, Corsair's website features a memory finder tool to assist consumers in selecting the right choice for their system — particularly helpful given the extensive range of memory density, speed, latency, colour, and kit options they offer.

This specific Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5-6000 AMD EXPO & Intel XMP 64GB Memory Kit has a CAS Latency of 30 (CL30). It is available in two densities, either 32GB (2x16GB) or 64GB (2x32GB), and can be purchased directly from Corsair or through online retailers, priced at $124.99 for the 32GB Kit and $229.99 for the 64GB Kit.

Unlike some of the other VENGEANCE Memory Kits Corsair offers, these kits currently do not have any other colour options such as matte black or white, and are only available in flat grey, as depicted in this review. Regardless of choice, all Corsair memory modules are backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

There are several notable visual design cues. It features Corsair's distinctively shaped solid aluminum heat spreader in a subtle flat grey colour, complemented by a darker grey triangular pattern that's printed throughout. One side is adorned with a brushed aluminum VENGEANCE badge, while the reverse side hosts a product identification sticker.

For those seeking additional aesthetic appeal, this particular Corsair Memory Kit also features ten-zone RGB lighting. The light emitting diodes (LEDs) are bright, and opaqueness is uniform thanks to an RGB diffuser that spans the entire length of the module. A small Corsair logo towards the center of each module is also visible when the lighting is on. The soft glow of RGB lighting remains vibrant, whether in daylight or darkness, and is visible from both top and side viewing angles.

Unfortunately, the Corsair iCUE software isn't compatible with Linux, however, there are various Open Source Software alternatives available for lighting control and customization that you may experiment with.

Taking a closer look at what's underneath the heat spreader, we can see that this high-speed memory kit utilizes SK hynix H5CG48AGBDX018 (A-die) integrated circuits (ICs) for a total of 32GB per memory module.

Corsair marketing puts some emphasis on this kit being optimized for AMD motherboards, but those who favor Intel shouldn't shy away, as these memory modules support both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP profiles, providing greater flexibility.
